Immigration is what Global Mobility HR Professionals need to be aware of and always in tune with. You want to avoid having a situation where the employee gets to the airport and they're denied entry because they either don't have the proper visa or the proper paperwork in order to enter that country. One thing that I've seen in in my experience is that when companies enter Mexico, they realize that as Mexico, Mexico as a culture, it is likes to have their branding. And with that, companies that have been successful in entering the country as a business have differentiated their business locally through a specific branding, and that has enabled that, I think the country to be continuously growing, continuously changing, and that is, I think one of the key things of why global mobility is so interested in also entering the country.

Coming into Canada One of the things that people are surprised by with Canada is they do first city and climate so we're dealing with four seasons here that can be very different and contrasting. So, for instance, moving people from what is normally a tropical location to Canada where they're arriving here in the winter, having to deal with snow.
I think from a cultural perspective, Canada is a very open country from an immigration perspective, there are a lot of cultures represented in Canada, and whether you're out west or out east, you'll see varying representations of different cultures. So you'll find a Chinatown in Toronto. And if you go out west, you'll see Chinatown in Calgary as well. And you know, here in Toronto in particular, where I reside, there's a lot of little towns or little parts of the community that represent different parts of the world, like Italy, China, little Manila for the Philippines and north of the city.

So once your company and your business gets set up in China, it's actually it can go really fast. There is a lot of great cities for expats to live here, and that could be you know, the capital, Beijing, or it could be the financial center of Shanghai, which is very artistic and cultural and it can also be the Great Bay Area down south near Hong Kong with Shenzhen, which has great weather.
And a lot of new tech startups like to Silicon Valley of China. So I think that people really underestimate the country The first tip when you're going to China is to hire a local visa agency because of the ever changing bureaucracy and the ever changing entry immigration policies there is here. What might be a policy last year is not a policy this year.
Brazil & Global Mobility GMJ Ambassadors share insights on assignments to Brazil For many expats, Brazil is the dream location because of its tropical rainforests, stunning beaches, and welcoming locals - just to name a few! Brazilians tend to welcome people really easy and our teams are really tuned to welcoming someone from another culture. I understand that there are some cultures that they tend to be more when around us because we touch, we hug. Brazil is really welcoming. Our people is really welcoming. The biggest challenges, I believe, are immigration, because even though we have new immigration law, which started two years ago, it's still really restrictive on what the person can do with their visa.
